Jodhpur Travel Experience

Jodhpur in Rajasthan is a premium touristic place after Udaipur. Like the rest of the Rajasthan, Jodhpur has a fort i.e Mehrangarh Fort. This fort is the major attraction of Jodhpur. Jodhpur is also known as, “Blue City” as most of the homes in the city are colored in blue. The best time to visit, Jodhpur is during the winters in India. The whole of the city is spread across this famous fort only.

Jodhpur has an airport which makes it easier to reach this place. If one doesn’t wish to travel via flight. Then the option of trains is also available. One can take a train to Jodhpur. India’s railway network is one of the finest railway networks in the world. The best place to book trains is via IRCTC.

If a person is fond of the food, then Jodhpur will never disappoint you. A hotel “Gypsy Restaurant.” This restaurant is famous for Rajasthani thali & I bet this will fulfill your stomach & mind completely. Trying Rajasthani Thali is essential while in the city. Further, one of the most refreshing things to do in Jodhpur; is sitting in a rooftop restaurant & having dinner. The backdrop of the fort with mouth-watering food will make your trip worthwhile.

Most of the people visit Jodhpur; as a stoppage point before visiting Jaisalmer. As both these cities are nearby & during winters a road trip from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer is refreshing & mesmerizing.

Jodhpur is good for a couple of days & purely for eating & shopping. A marketplace is available to buy some aesthetic goods & textiles. After enjoying Jodhpur, people usually head towards the Jaisalmer (to witness the sand dunes of India).

Spain Visa During The Time of Covid

The year 2021 was no different from the year 2020, corona has halted the normal lives of people & it is doing so very subtly. Every few months new variants are coming resulting in the shutting down of the borders. This is impacting the travel industry a lot, flights are getting canceled & plans are getting tossed up in the unknown. However, with the vaccinations, things are getting normalized in some sense, if not all. Few countries opened their border for tourism for fully vaccinated individuals & Spain was one such country that allowed it; citing this opportunity, I planned a trip to Spain during my birthday in November.

Ibiza
India approved covishield & covaxin for clinical use & Spain considered people vaccinated with covishield to travel their country. I was vaccinated with the covishield vaccination, so I promptly started searching for the list of documents required for applying for the visa & any additional approvals required before applying for a visa. Previously, I went to Spain in 2017 on my first Europe trip, but this time I exclusively chose Spain because of the restrictions. I planned my trip for 2 weeks & decided to cover places like Madrid, Ibiza & Seville. I will cover all these cities in detail in the coming posts. However, before this let’s start with the visa process.

In 2017, I had applied for a Netherland visa through VFS global. However, Spain is using BLS as a service provider. So, I had to follow the instruction given by BLS. One can find information about location via their website. BLS office location can be found on their website. BLS India Website

Most of the information is readily available on their platform. However, some of the important are as follows:

List of Items Required For Applying Visa:

1. Cover Letter:

The cover letter is one of the important documents required to apply for a visa. It will be your first document in the series of documents to be handed over to the BLS for review. A cover letter consists of details like your details like passport number, issuing country, dates of arriving & departing from the host country, a brief itinerary of the places you are going to visit & the purpose of the travel. One should write a comprehensive letter to the consulate covering all the details.

2. Itinerary:

One should prepare an itinerary in a detailed manner, stating the places & dates of visiting the places. Further, the itinerary should cover things you will do on each day & places you intend to visit. The itinerary can be tentative during the time of applying for the visa. However, try to be as accurate as possible.

3. Schengen Application Form:

While applying for the visa, the Schengen application form is a must, a duly filled form is required while submitting the documents. One can find the form at the following link Visa Form Following the link, one can download all the forms & checklists required to apply for the visa. The form is easy to fill & will cover details like place of stay, their addresses, funding source, travel insurance details, etc.

4. Travel Insurance:

One should have a minimum coverage of 30,000 Euros for the number of days one is planning to stay in the country. The insurance should be valid for the entire duration of your trip journey. One can use many insurance providers for this. I used Bajaj Allianz for the same.

5. Accommodation:

One needs to pre-book the stays for all the days staying in the country. It is important to book accommodation for days even when you are transiting from one city to other. One can use following links for booking.

Best Deals On Hotels: Places to find best deals on hotels.

Agoda: Best place to book hotels of your liking. Agoda provides the best solution & great offer while booking a hotel.

Booking: Best place to book hostel rooms. There are plenty of options available & with so many properties booking becomes much easier.

6. Flight Tickets:

Although, it is mentioned on the website that flight tickets are not required while applying. However, I had booked the tickets before as I was getting great offers on the prices. Thus, it is up to one to book or not. Also, most of the flights are offering free cancellation services up to 24 hrs before flying in case one is not able to travel for some of the other reasons. One can use following link

Skyscanner: Skyscanner compares various sites & sort the flights based on the rates. A great way to check flight cost. Although the only drawback is that rates are flexible. Hence, the cost might change while you are making the payment.

Jetradar: Jetradar is a comparing site which is just like Skyscanner. But, is much more accurate & much more handy in use.

Cheap Internation Flights: Best place to find cheap international flight tickets.

7. Bank balance & ITR:

One needs to submit the last 3 months of bank balance on the bank’s letterhead with an official seal. Along with the same one needs to submit ITR for the last two years as well.

8. Visa Fee:

One will have to spare approx 8000-9000 Rs per application for the applying.

9. Copy of Passport:

If you have obtained Schengen Visa with previously can submit the photocopy of the same while submitting the documents. Also, one needs to submit an old passport (if expired & issued a new one).

After applying for the visa one needs to wait for a minimum of 5 days for getting a stamped visa. The stamped passport will be couriered to your address & if stamped it is time to travel.

Uttarakhand

You just know the amount of adventure and fun that is enclosed here, when rather than naming a particular spot the whole state is mentioned in the list! The state of Uttarakhand is without a doubt one of the most famous adventure places in India. Home to the amazing Roopkund trek, this state is just a cluster of adventures. The Roopkund Trek leads you to the peculiar Roopkund Lake, well we call it peculiar because the lake is surrounded by human skeletons, hundreds of them to be honest. But not just this kinda haunted and weird trek, the state of Uttarakhand is also famous for various other heart-thumping treks and activities including Nag Tibba Trek, Kalka-Kasauli Trek, Kheerganga trek and many more. All you have to do is book your visit while keeping in mind the weather, as not all treks are accessible throughout the year.

Kovalam

Surfing is not something that you will generally associate with the country of India, but what if we tell you there is a part of Kerala where it is one of the most popular activities? Kovalam in Kerala is home to a great population of surfers and surfing schools. If you are one of those who loves the sport or want to try it out, now is the right time for you to do it!

Spiti Valley

As the summer heat gives way to the annoying monsoons of the hills, as the landslides and road blockages in the majority of areas of the Himalayas, this amazing road trip to the cold desert is your ideal getaway to flee the sweltering heat and humidity of the hustling cities and the unending rains of the mountains. What if we tell you that you can do all this, and much more at one of the highest stations in India? Where no vegetation flowers and the valleys are surrounded by tall, exposed, and barren ridges with snow-capped tops. Where just a few vehicles make it since there are no roads, just rubble, and rocks, and natural beauty as far as the eye can see.

Spiti, which means ‘middle land’, is one of our desired destinations. It not only provides us with an escape from the heat but also shows us how to actually live and let go! Spiti is definitely not for people who want a luxurious getaway, or for the timid. If you are one of those who are looking to traverse the local Spitian culture by living in rustic homestays and enjoying local food, we welcome you aboard as we travel through this mysterious land exploring clandestine gems and making a myriad of memories under the stars.

Club Mahindra is one of the most widely used facilities for luxury travel. The Club Mahindra resorts are at all the major attractions ranging from South to North & each one of them is beautifully constructed. One such property is in Varca. Varca beach is located in South Goa & is one of the most premium locations in Goa. South Goa is known to have best of the beaches & many of them are untouched & unexplored. Varca is one such beach that has limited access to the outside world. It is secluded, private & amazingly beautiful. Club Mahindra Varca beach resort is probably one of the most occupied resorts among its range of resorts. I stayed in Club Mahindra Varca beach resort for 5 days & the stay was as good as it can get.

Swimming Pool Club Mahindra Varca

Club Mahindra Resort Varca Goa

Spread in several acres, this property will take you into its natural abode. The place has two swimming pools to relax you. This place, best feature is its private beach. Kashid Beach Trip

Kashid Beach is one of the most famous places near both Pune & Mumbai. It is a cheap get away from both the metropolitan cities & is easily reachable through road. I went to this place from both Pune & Mumbai & absolutely loved the route to the destination. Kashid beach is much more commercialized than the previous years. So, anyone who is looking for a quiet getaway might get disappointed. However, an unobstructed view of the ocean & its beauty will be enough to lure you to this place. This time around, I traveled from Mumbai via Zoom Car (a self-driving car hiring service).

Kashid Beach Sunset
We started from Mumbai, taking the old Mumbai- Pune highway, which is newly constructed. The route will take one from Navi Mumbai Airport to Karnala Bird Sanctuary, to Alibaugh & then finally to Kashid Beach. After crossing Panvel, the traffic reduced substantially & we entered the green surroundings. The surroundings are fabulous during the rainy season. The way will pass through a steel plant, small bridges & some villages. Before reaching Kashid, a route of approx 5 Km is heaven, where one gets to ride overlooking the ocean. The place covers several points, where one can take pictures & enjoy some peaceful time.

Kashid Beach Mark My Adventure
After traveling for roughly 4 hours, we witnessed the mesmerizing beach of Kashid. The beach is clean & the water is a bit muddy. The beach has several food outlets & Goan-style water sports. The beach is crowded & extends to a few Km’s. The best part of the beach is clearly the latter end of it, where the crowd is less & the view is glorious. The commercialized part of the beach is not worth visiting as it will rob you of the beauty.

We rented a place away from Kashid Beach, yet have its mini private beach. The distance of the private beach is hardly 2 min from the stay. We opted for the place for the same reason, as it has given us the excess to the beach or in fact unobstructed beach excess. The place was awesome & having a whole beach to ourselves is one of the bliss that one craves for any given day. The house amenities were very limited, though the services were good & people were eager to provide everything at a handful of distance. We stayed at Shubham Guesthouse, which has 2 properties & person can choose anyone from it.

Mark My Adventure
Food is below par, so expecting a great taste even from the best rating restaurants can be too much to ask for. One may be able to find seafood a bit tastier than vegetarian food. Drinks are readily available so finding it won’t be any problem. Many vanilla shops provide snacks which comprise of maggie, tea, coffee, etc. These vanilla shops can be a real savior during the time of crises.

Kashid beach is a great way to spend some quality time with friends & family. A trip now & then will be awesome at this place.

Manikaran Gurudwara

Manikaran is a highly auspicious place for Sikhs & Hindus. Both the community has a special attachment to the place for various reasons.

Sikh Belief: As per the story, Guru Nanak Dev Ji was with his Sikhs(Bhai Bala Ji & Bhai Mardana Ji) in the Himalaya mountains of India. His Sikhs were hungry and there was no food. Guru Nanak sent his Good Friend Bhai Mardana to collect food for langar (the Community Kitchen). Many people donated rice and flour (atta) to make parsadas (bread). The one problem was that there was no fire to cook the food.

Guru Nanak then lifted a rock and a hot spring (hot water) appeared. The Sikhs were able to make rice and beans. Bhai Mardana was having trouble making parasadas (chapatis) because they kept sinking. Bhai Mardana said, “I am going to donate my life in the name of God”. The parsada amazingly floated. Guru Nanak Dev Ji said that anyone who donates his life in the name of God, All his (or her) drowned items will float. This was a miracle. This is not all, it is believed that the hot springs can cure skin diseases or even ease the swelling caused by gout.

To pay respect to Guru Nanak who is believed to have visited the place. A huge Gurudwara is erected at the place. The Gurudwara is visited by millions of devotees each year. Even today, devotees are treated with free langar organized by Gurudwara.

Way To Manikaran
Hindu Belief: The Hindus believe that Manu recreated human life in Manikaran after the flood, making it a sacred area. Further, According to legend, when the Hindu God Shiva and his consort Parvati were walking in the valley, Parvati dropped one of her earrings. The jewel was seized by Shesha, the serpent deity, who then disappeared into the earth with it. Shesha only surrendered the jewel when Shiva performed the cosmic dance, the Tandava, and shot the jewel up through the water. Apparently, jewels continued to be thrown up in the waters at Manikaran until the 1905 Kangra earthquake. Hence the name.

Waterfall Near Manikaran
Manikaran is approx 5-7 km from Kasol & can be with ease. The road is properly paved & one can find many people visiting the place. The place is peaceful & the best part is the hot spring. Even during winters, hot water is more hotter than water running through a geyser. So having a dip in the water will relieve your tiredness.

The place an absolute gem & visiting it once is absolutely necessary if traveling to Kasol in Himachal.

Malana Village Trek

Malana village is famous all around the world for a sole reason only & that reason is marijuana. The green stuff is available all over the world & because of which people are willing to visit this place to get a glimpse of it. Malana also has a hydro plant. Though, the attraction point is the village only. One can reach Malana while traveling to Kasol. After Jhari, take a right towards the Malana Hydro project & follow the path. This beautiful path will take you to the Malana Village entrance point. From there, one has to walk to the Malana Village.

Malana Village Himachal
The way to the entrance gate of Malana Village is not difficult & a four-wheeler can help you achieve this feat. However, during snow cabs are allowed to travel only up to a certain point, & from there one has to take a 4 by 4 to reach to the village entrance. After reaching the village entrance, one has to walk for around 1.5 hours to reach the main village.

I went during the winters & it had snowed the night before & because of the snow, the whole place was covered with it & resembled a Disney movie, straight from the fantasy. The trees top & branches were covered in the snow & one can only see snow. This was my first experience of snow & it was truly remarkable. The view of snow-capped trees & route is hard to describe.

Enroute To Malana
Every great thing is achieved by working hard & Malana village will make sure that everyone goes through hell before reaching heaven. Although, I am blowing this out of proportion. Yet, the trek of 1.5 hours to reach Malana village is moderately hard for some. People who have completed the Kheerganga trek can easily complete the task. But, people who have done little to no physical activities will find it very difficult to trek. The trek is tiring & exhausting & will take around 1.5 hours to reach Malana Village.

Malana Village Mark My Adventure
The narrow path to the village is beautiful but restricting, as one opposite valley is visible that gets monotonous after some time. But, when one hikes a little higher than, one can enjoy more pleasant & unique views of other peaks. After the hard trek, the person witnesses the pure beauty of the place & suddenly all the tiredness & exertion vanishes. Such is the beauty of the place & one of the core reasons to visit this place. The best way to spend in Malana Village is by sitting in cafes & sipping the majestic view of the place.

Malana Village Mark My Adventure

Chalal Trek

Chalal Mark My Adventure
Chalal is a small village near Kasol. To reach Chalal, one has to trek through the rough terrain & while doing so, one will stumble upon some of the most scenic views that one can imagine. The trek is roughly 30 to 40 min walk from Kasol. The place is known for its calmness, beauty & parties. There is a bridge that connects Kasol & Chalal. Thus, one has to cross that bridge & walk adjacent to the Parbati river in a narrow lane. The trek has many ups & downs but nothing substantial to demotivate you or demoralize you. The path is straight forward & marked as well. Hence people, who are trekking for the first time will not face any issue while reaching Chalal.

Parbati River Chalal
During trekking, experience the peace & quietness of the place. Places that are so calm & peaceful can only be found amid the mountains. At such places, the noise of the machines is replaced by the voice of the chirping birds or flowing river. Another reason that makes this place fabulous & breath-taking, it is tough to find such places where one can connect with nature at its purest form. Himachal has a flurry of such places & one of the many reasons to visit Himachal.

After walking for approx 40 min’s, one will see the village. The village is quiet & houses are pretty. There are many cafes in the village, which will offer food & drinks. However, the most famous ones are Cafe Maya & Cafe Freedom. Cafe Maya is more secluded & closer to nature. From Cafe Maya, one can view the might mountains while sipping a cup of tea. The raw nature of the place is magical & probably one of the major points that attract you to it. If compared to kasol, Chalal is hardly commercialized, finding a modern equipped home will be difficult. Whereas Kasol is fully commercialized & with increasing footfall the place is buzzing with the tourists literary in every season & finding peaceful place seems to be bit difficult. Chalal is much more secluded & because of which is preferred by many people.

Enroute To Chalal Mark My Adventure
There is nothing much to do apart from staying & chilling & enjoying nature in its full flow. So, if one is looking for a more secluded, closer to nature & can spend time with him or herself, can opt-out for Chalal.

Mountain View From Chalal Mark My Adventure
My experience of visiting the place was amazing. The calmness in the wind & nature will help to relax to the core & even though one is doing nothing. Yet, sitting in the lap of nature & enjoying it without any disturbance is one of the experiences that are ought to be tried & is a kind of meditation in itself.

Best Places Near Jabalpur

Jabalpur is one of the well-developed places in Madhya Pradesh & also among the few which are developed. A small-town city, still crawling to find some fast-paced life, like big cities. There are a few good options to choose from. So, if one is living in Jabalpur & looking for some good options to relish, can opt for the following options. All these places are around 200 Km from the city & can be fruitful for an outing or a long drive.

Bhedhaghat Waterfall Mark My Adventure

Bhedhaghat

Bhedhaghat is the nearest to all the places near Jabalpur. Bhedhaghat is known for the waterfall & Marble rocks. The waterfall is located on the Narmada river. Its stature is very minute compared to some of the well-known waterfall, yet it is beautiful to watch. Another attraction is marble rocks, a boat ride through the marbles is one of the most pleasing & calming things one can do. Huge cliffs surround the river & thus is very calming & quiet. This can be one of the best half-day trips.

Mandla Kanha National Park Main Road

Kanha National Park

Kanha National Park is one of the few places where one can enjoy the natural habitat of the Tiger. The place is awesome for nature enthusiasts. The natural abode of animals is worth enjoying & if one is lucky enough to watch Tiger; it is the icing on the cake. The place is well maintained & a trip for a couple of days is a must.

Maihar Mark My Adventure

Maihar

Maihar is a place with a mythological history. It is said that God Shiva was carrying the dead body of Sati & her necklace falls on this place hence the name. Maihar is known for its temple & each year thousands of people visit this place for some blessing. Many other fascinating mythological tales are surrounding the temple are worth listening to.

Bandhavgarh Travel

Bandhavgarh

Bandhavgarh National park is another park famous for Tiger spotting. Bandhavgarh is having one of the highest density of tiger & thus there are high chances of spotting a tiger in its natural abode. A trip to the national park is always exciting because of the uncertainty of the next moment. All the national parks shall be booked online from the government portal & it is highly recommended to book the tour before visiting the place. As only limited vehicles are allowed in the region & after reaching the place & not having tickets for entry will be disheartening.

These are some of the best places near Jabalpur. The best time to roam around Jabalpur is winters. As the temperature is reasonable at this time & one can easily enjoy outdoor activities. Enjoying the sunshine in winters is among the most pleasurable things to enjoy during winters. So, if one is near Jabalpur & looking for some of the places to explore then these can be great options to choose from.

Bhedhaghat gives a sense of ancient place the area, is hardly developed & have lots of glimpse of the undeveloped portion. Bhedhaghat main attractions are limited to the Dhuandhar waterfall & marble rocks. So, how is the place & is Bhedhaghat is worth visiting to? These questions are meant to rise & considering people zeal to visit new places this can be an interesting topic to write upon for those who are looking for travel options.

Bhedhaghat is a very small town near Jabalpur which is the only major city near the town. One can reach Jabalpur from any part of India because of a very well connected rail network.

First Impression Of Bhedhaghat:

Following the national highway towards Nagpur, there is a diversion towards the right which will take you one step closure to the destination. The way from the national highway to the entrance of the village is still under construction (the year 2020) & hence one can witness few bumps during the road. After taking a right cut to the village, a single lane narrow road will maneuver one to the main entry point. One can experience a few bumps en route to the parking location. From parking, one has to walk towards the waterfall. The way to the waterfall is surrounded by shops, on either side & after some 1 Km from parking, one can sense the voice of dropping water. A sense of excitement will grapple one’s mind & heart. The water is not thunderous for a waterfall, yet feels threatening at some time. There is not an option to enjoy the waterfall from the bottom of it, but a facility is available to enjoy it from the top. It is one of the pleasant sites to enjoy, the sound of water & calmness with which it flows after cutting through the marble rocks. It is amazing to see the stillness of a river before reaching the inception point & then calming again. A unique formation to watch for sure. There are few points before the waterfall where one can enjoy a dip in the river.

The second attraction of Bhedhaghat is boating in the Narmada River through marble rocks. Naturally cut marble rocks are one of the best sites to enjoy & some of the famous Bollywood movies have shot some shots here. A boat will carry people through the different parts of marble rocks & some of which are beautiful to watch. During the different sections of boating, one can experience different colors of marbles in their natural form, the site has been managed well by the caretakers & it is always a pleasure to witness an unadulterated site. Boating will give a calming feeling amid the nature & for once a person can forget about the outside noise.

Was It Worth Visiting Bhedhaghat?

Bhedhaghat is some 100 Km from the place I reside & during covid times when there are no options available this seems to be an obvious choice to roam. Surprisingly, the place is a decent one & a half-day tour is more than enough to cover both these points. For a person who is staying nearby & looking for some change of view can surely visit this place. But, I feel one will not enjoy going there again & again. The place is good for a couple of times but not more than that.

So, will I recommend visiting Bhedhaghat? I wouldn’t if you are specially coming only for this. There are many other places where one can enjoy a good outing. Bhedhaghat is one of those places, where one can have a decent outing if one is staying in a nearby city & wants to have a day off among the river, which is a nice way to relax & enjoy nature.
