Nashik

Nashik is one of the holy place which have a great significance for religious purposes. It is home to one of the biggest events in the world The Kumbh ( which attracts holy persons from all over the world) along with Trimbakeshwar, it is also famous for Shirdi (Home of Sai baba), Shani Temple & Sula vineyard.

This place is offers alot for two to three days getaways. My motive for this trip was to check out Trimbakeshwar.

How To Reach

Nashik is well connected from Mumbai & Pune with both Rail network & buses. I went from Mumbai. So, following are my mode of transportation.

Train: I took the random train heading towards Nashik road(However, there are many trains running from Mumbai to Nashik).

From Pune: Although I havn't went from Pune. But buses are available for Nashik in good frequency.

Trimbakeshwar Temple

Trimbakeshwar is one of the places which offers a chance to see jyotirlinga. There are only 12 jyotirlingaas in India & one of them is in Nashik. Tri meaning is three, thus this temple represents 3 linga's of Brahma, Vishnu & Shiva. As per history this temple was built by Nana Saheb Peshwa.

Generally, there are two lines for darshan one is free & one is paid. Depending upon your timings you can choose anyone of them. It usually, takes one to two hour for darshan. Also, there are many places which offer locker services at a minimum price. The temple premises doesn't allow you to carry anything inside so it is better to keep your belongings in the locker.

Along with the temple, there is Kushavarta a place from where the Godavari takes its course. It is believed that a holy dip in this place can wipe off your sin, because of which this place is crowded with tourists through out the year.

This place is among the 4 places which holds the mighty Kumbh festival (World's largest congregation of millions peoples, gathered together to be freed from earthly cycle of life & death).

I shot an video with a GoPro Hero 4 Adventure Edition (Black) Action Camera(One of the finest adventure camera I came across)
